Shredding
There are two main types of shredding systems to reduce waste materials.
1: Primary shredding
Reduces materials down to 50mm up to 300mm.
2: Fines shredding
Reduces materials to under 50mm per particle.
Primary shredded waste can be further reduced by Fines shredding.
Your outcome materials can then be cost effectively disposed of or sold for further use.
Recycling shredder machinery is typically used by tree surgeons/ green waste composters, construction companies, waste management companies, waste to energy providers, plastic producers and plastic recyclers.
Materials may be waste wood and vegetation from landscaping and gardening (for chippings and composting) but it may also minimise recycled wood, extracted during demolition.
Shredding can also reduce materials such as plastics as well as cardboard and paper (which can then be used to create Refuse Derived Fuel RDF/ SRF).

How long have you been going?
After 30+ years in the industry I have gained extensive knowledge about methods for recycling waste. I began my career in engineering in the mid-1970s and then moved into equipment sales for mining and quarrying. In the ‘90s I focused on demolition reclamation and from 2000, got involved in the build of waste management equipment. I then set up WRT Waste Recycling Technologies in 2006. I have therefore, always been embedded within the reclaim, recycle and re-use sector.
